CDE is dedicated to serving young men and Christ through work and brotherhood. Above all else, we want to meet you where you're at.
While the Seven Principles and Virtues of St. Joseph (see below) are what the group is founded upon, failure to always uphold all of them is expected. We aim to aid young men in the constant battle of becoming virtuous, no matter their circumstance.
Whether you're a cradle Catholic, someone returning to the faith, or just curious—if you're a young man who wants to grow, you belong here.

Becoming an official member is done through being formally invested into CDE. While being invested, a man resolves to uphold the Seven Principles and Virtues of St. Joseph and to serve his community and God with integrity.
We offer a Shadow Period, which is a zero-pressure trial phase that lets you attend meetings, meet the guys, and experience our brotherhood firsthand before making any official commitment.

About CDE
-
CDE consists of three primary charisms: Anima Christi (Latin for “Soul of Christ”), Servi Christ (Latin for “Servants of Christ”), and Ave Christus Rex (Latin for “Hail Christ the King”), each emphasizing a particular characteristic of St. Joseph. These charisms are essentially the fundamentals of the group: to reflect the soul of Christ, to be servants of Christ, and lastly, to hail Him as our King.
Every young man has his own significant spiritual needs. On one end, a young man may need a greater focus on the contemplative or prayer life. Or, conversely, he may desire a greater focus on catechesis.
Each month throughout the year will have its own distinct focus on a charism according to what needs to be emphasized throughout individual groups.
-
A man must remain pure in order that he may reflect the purity of God.
A man must remain humble and control what he says and thinks.
A man must recognize and contemplate the need for the imitation of Christ in the family.
A man must offer up sacrifices for those that he loves and remain silent in doing so. He must put every bit of strength he has in order to aid those in need.
A man must take responsibility for his actions. He must accept that he is imperfect so that he may strive to grow in Christ, who is perfect.
A man must put God before all so that when the time comes, he is willing to die for Christ, just as Christ has given up his life for Him.
And lastly, a man must forgive, just as Christ has forgiven Him.
These principles are meant to be lived out day-to-day. Failure is expected, but it is never the end in itself. Striving to uphold these principles will help each member fulfill CDE’s mission and truly become the men God created them to be.
